Encouraging families

We believe that to grow spiritually healthy families, parents must be equipped to be the primary nurturers of their kid’s faith (Deuteronomy 6), that the faith community needs to play a supportive role in this endeavor (Ephesians 4), and that we must remain dependent on the Holy Spirit to bring about spiritual growth and formation when and as he chooses (Philippians 2:13).

Two biblical institutions are charged with the responsibility of nurturing children’s faith.

Home & Family: Parents are entrusted with the primary responsibility for the instruction of their children.

Church: Through its various programs, the church aims to strengthen, confirm, and reinforce instruction in the home. Parenting ministries seeks to support, equip, and encourage parents in their efforts to raise children in the fear, trust and delight of the Lord.

Through growth groups, events, and retreats for parents and children, The Family Life Department encourages heads of households and families (and the wider church family) to mark milestones in their children’s lives, nurture parent-child relationships, and lead each family member to maturity in Christ.

Our curriculum is a dynamic, spiritually-forming, and family-empowered ministry philosophy that offers a vibrant weekend experience, as well as other family resources that meet the specific needs of today’s generation. Written by our Children’s Ministry team and a major Christian publisher, our curriculum is uniquely developed to inspire, equip, and support parents and volunteer/leaders in their ministry to children.

Our Families Team strongly believes that spiritual development can and should begin from the earliest age with parents as the primary nurturers of their children’s faith. With this in mind, our resources support both the church and home with a focus on knowing God personally, igniting a passion for Christ, learning to listen to his Spirit, keeping Biblical content true to context, and cultivating a concern for people’s needs in our communities and the world.

We also offer classes working through biblical parenting materials from Tedd Tripp and the Shepherding a Child's heart Materials as well as offer a host of classes using the Growing Kids God's Way materials. Each tri-mester take a look at the growth group catalog to see which course best fits your family.

If you have any questions you can call Pastor Scott Elliott our Family Life Pastor and he will be glad to help connect you with other families and meet with you to see how the church can support and encourage your marriage and family.
