A Senior Pastor Transition

Celebrating Pastor Zac's Faithful Leadership

After 43 years of faithful service, Pastor Zac is shifting from his role as Senior Pastor. As he steps into a supportive pastoral role, he does so in good health and excitement.

Zac will remain present and active in the life of our church, and he invites all of Hope Chapel to embrace this new season with faith and unity.

How to pray for Pastor Zac:

  • That God would grant him wisdom and grace in this new season of life.
  • That God would bless his ongoing ministry.
  • For continued health, peace, and joy.

Welcoming Pastor Mike as Our New Senior Pastor

On November 29, 2026, Pastor Mike Nazarian will become the new Senior Pastor of Hope Chapel.

Having served as a staff Pastor for 14 years alongside Pastor Zac, Mike brings a deep love for our church, a commitment to God's Word, and a heart for shepherding the people of Hope.

We look forward to all that God will do in and through Hope Chapel under Mike's leadership.

How to pray for Pastor Mike:

  • That God would grant him wisdom and courage in his new role.
  • For God's protection and peace over him and his family.
  • That God would give him clear vision and steadfast conviction to lead Hope Chapel faithfully.

Transition Details

Pastor Zac believes God has made it clear to him the time has come to make this change. This decision comes from a place of health, strength, and a desire to see God's work at Hope Chapel continue for generations to come.

No. Pastor Zac is not leaving Hope Chapel. He will transition into the role of Pastor Emeritus and remain present in the life of our church. While he will no longer carry the day-to-day responsibilities of Senior Pastor, he will continue to be a valued part of our church family and a source of wisdom and guidance to our Leadership team.

Having grown up in the church, Mike served in various ministries before joining the pastoral staff in 2012. He holds a Master of Arts in New Testament from Talbot School of Theology and has faithfully served as an Associate Pastor, Teaching Pastor, and Elder at Hope for 14 years.

Mike has demonstrated a strong commitment to studying and teaching God's Word, a heart for the spiritual care of God's people, and an understanding of Hope Chapel's unique history and identity. His character, biblical convictions, and pastoral leadership have given our church leadership confidence in his calling and readiness to lead Hope Chapel in its next chapter of ministry.

This transition has been a matter of prayer and thoughtful consideration for many years, involving several layers of church leadership, including Pastor Zac, the Church Council, Elders, and the Foursquare denomination.  Throughout this process, we believe God has been faithfully guiding our leaders. The leadership bodies of our church are unified in support of Mike's appointment as the next Senior Pastor.

According to our denominational bylaws, the Church Council must nominate a candidate for the Senior Pastor position. The Church Council of Hope Chapel unanimously nominated Pastor Mike to serve as our next Senior Pastor. His nomination was submitted to our Foursquare denomination, where Mike underwent a formal process of thorough examination and review before receiving final approval. This process has been marked by prayer, unity, and a shared confidence in God's continued direction for Hope Chapel.

A Legacy of Leadership

For over 50 years, Hope Chapel has been blessed with faithful pastoral leadership, and we are grateful to welcome Pastor Mike as only the third Senior Pastor in our church’s history. He shares the same commitment as Ralph Moore and Zac Nazarian: to faithfully serve God’s people and see His work continue in and through Hope Chapel.
